This is actually one of the many reasons why we are here - that's why the SPEED in Speedheat is so important - the heating up and cooling down time. Our corporate office is actually in Georgia, so we completely understand! This is actually one of the many reasons why we are here – that’s why the SPEED in Speedheat is so important – the heating up and cooling down time.

The gentle warmth from the RugBuddy provides an even, comfortable unobtrusive heat, so most people are okay with turning it on or off whenever they are using the room or simply buying an appliance timer at their local hardware store. That being said, if you are using the RugBuddy as an energy efficient primary heating source, a plugin thermostat such as the PlugBuddyâ„¢ is ideal. Your 5' x 7' area rug will definitely cover the entire heater. The cord flat and in the corner of the RugBuddy, and there is no top or bottom. This allows you to flip the RugBuddy heater whichever way you like to hide the cord best! Thanks for your interest! Please let us know if we can be of any further help! Find more information on the RugBuddyâ„¢ under rug heater mat at Speedheat Floor Heating's site here Hi Matilda,

We run our air conditioner into December and start again in March. In the spring and fall, we often have the air on during the day and the heat on at night. When it's hot, it is hot (over 100 + humidity), and when it's cold, it gets down into the teens. We are currently remodeling a house to move into that has no heat or air at the moment. If I were to set the Speedheat system at a certain temperature, would it maintain that temerature hot or cold? In other words, the Speedheat can replace central heat, could it also replace air condidioning (with ceiling fans)? We would love to get one system for the house and not have to have a heating system and a cooling system. Also, with the Speedheat heating the floors, would it be unfavorable to open the windows? It seems that SmartStat is only for the hardwired product, and the remote control for RugBuddy is on/off, not temperature. Would thermostat control for Rug Buddy be needed?
